LOL Why oh, why do you have to always bring up the race card, Folly? Look, if you're into that sort of thing, I can probably find a nice KKK-themed proboard for you to join.... Perhaps this one? supremely-white.proboards47.com Just say the word ;D

But the shortened version of your name is Tit... Oh the irony! (For US readers - irony - kinda like steely!) Folly.

My name story is kinda odd.
I was sitting there deciding what my name should be for Mechwarrior 4, and I saw my C&C Tiberian sun expansion box infront of me.... the name of the expansion was "FireStorm" So I grabbed that and it was available.
The Sir part came later on in my MW4 "career" when I came to be leader of ComStar, one of the largest clans at the time.
I guess I've been too lazy to think of anything else since.

Post by Rooker on Apr 4, 2005 17:21:36 GMT -6
My name started in 1992, when my group decided to switch from AD&D to another game. One of the guys in the group had heard of a game called Vampire the Masquarade. He brought it over, and while creating characters, I was at a loss at what to call my character. All the years I had been playing AD&D, I had played dwarves, and had a few names I always used. Gorgonn, Deerslayer, Rath, Korrd, ShadowHawk, and Gorth. None fit a current-time based RP game. So thinking about the type of characters I normally play, I thought of chess, and my favorite piece, the rook. In my mind, the rook stands for strength, guarding the corners, sweeping up or across to kill unsuspecting pawns ;D But Rook just didn't sound right, so I added an "er" on the end and Rooker was born. Rooker was the best character I ever played, and I played him for many years. And the stories about him would fill many books. We played VtM up to a couple of years ago, and when I moved to Arizonia, the group broke up (although I still keep in touch with all of them). When I first bought NWN, I went online to start my account, and lo and behold, Rooker was taken. So I added my birth year onto the end of my name and Rooker1963 was born Well, that's it. Not very exciting I know. As a side note, I never realized how popular the name Rooker was. There was even a TV character by that name a few years ago. I have to wonder why they chose my name, what all their stories are Rooker

Like Rooker, Karu San (closer to sun than san) was the name of a character from PnP based gaming. AD&D, that is. He started out as an NPC I had created to fit the history of the land I was putting my players through. As the DM, I chose to create a world rather than use a pre-made one.
Karu-San was a gray elf who lived just about every day of his potential natural lifespan. Through some carefully worded wishes, a few experiments in time travel, and some incredibly worded lucky events, he managed to have the worlds first 12 meter racing yacht (built with a fiberglass hull, no less). You see, as with most DM's, NPCs tend to take on a life of their own as they are played. Karu-San although originally created to fill a historical space, was dragged back into the "present" day of the campaigns by curious characters, quests, resurrections and just some really clever and annoying characters that wanted to see if they could do something.. just because.
So I grew to like my Elven Ranger Mage. Especially because of how he ended up dealing with the first party that brought him back to life on the Prime Material Plane... but that is a tale for another time..

Sularus from the Dragonlance series, the nights of solamnias code is Sularus Oth Mithas, my honor is my life. So that's bout it for that name.
Raize is a name I use alot as well, my log in name actually. It started in EQ. Making a dark elf warrior. I wanted a name for causing havoc and destruction. Well Raze means to destroy and burn etc or close to that. So I made it Raize to give it my own personal feel to it. Then I searched google for star names and came upon an arabic I believe name for a star in Orion in the hunter. I was Na'ir Al Saif, meaning bright one of the sword. Well don't get much better than that for a warrior name I thought, so Na'ir Al Saith came about for my log in name, don't know why I changed it to TH at the end but that's where it stands now.

Folly, I actually think you have the best story for a nickname. It is funny, albeit in a sad, gallows humor kind of way.
Sariku was a character of mine back in the days that I played EQ on the Brell Serilis server. Sariku was a leezard necro with a pink nose. She was obnoxiously cute/ugly and eventually some of my friends started calling her Saricutie.
