Sure they have some great stuff but are some of the things are pretty unrealistic? For example the model choosing for the bastard sword that came with CEP turns the top to a circle thing? Same with the two hand sword with lightsabers, Sure its cool but lightsabers in NWN? Plus most of the weapon models don't match with some other weapon model very well. Also the new weapon types, why even bother making them, it unlikely a player is going to fight alot with a weapon that they cant have (weapon focus, imporved crit etc.) They could have just added those feats to the haks so they can be treated as real weapons. So yes the CEP is useful but it is also comes with alot of c**p for me.

CEP (Community Exspansion Project) came about because as people played NWN, they created things. Like weapons, armor, tile sets, etc.
Some of those things were gathered together, and put out there for everyone to use, or not, as they saw fit.
NWN is based off Dungeons and Dragons, a fantasy game.
There is nothing realistic about it, as fantasy is just that, fantasy.
For those who want realism, watch your local news, or read your local paper.
For me, give me light sabers, and other weapons I'll never use. Because one day I'll create a character to use one of those things, just because it's interesting.
And I'll kill monsters that don't exist because that's fun, not listening to another news report of how I'm getting screwed over again by my susposed representatives in congress, or how some nut is killing people, just because.
Give me fantasy anyday, cause at least I have some control over that.
The CEP package is a great addition to this game, and I hope that they continue to keep creating things for us to use in our "fantasy" games.

CEP is okay. Yes, there are some questionable things that come with it, but as a builder, you learn to like it. For a game thats been out for so long its nice to have some new stuff. CEP is sort of like a free expansion pack. The placables and the creatures add more deversity. The weapons I guess was for role play reasons, or for show. They added all different stuff to CEP so it could be used universally.
For example, the lightsabers. Yes they dont fit the medieval feel and look of NWN, but for the modules that have a different setting, the lightsabers work. And there in CEP for so you can use them or not, without using another hak.
